Grant Association of Knox County Indiana to Offer Grant Writing Workshops
Have you ever thought you’d like to write a grant for your favorite charity or your church? Or maybe you’ve written a grant or two, and want to improve your skills.
GAKCI invites you to a brief, live webinar at the Knox County Public Library Meeting House, 521 N 6th Street, Vincennes on Tuesday, March 16 from 2-3 p.m. “Proposal Writing Basics” will answer the questions: What are the key components of a proposal? How should a proposal be packaged?
The webinar is made possible by the Foundation Center, an organization that provides resources to non-profits and grantmakers. Please call Judy Kratzner by Friday, March 12 at 812-886-4380 or e-mail her at

if you would like to attend.
This opportunity will help prepare persons who are new to grant writing for the more in-depth GAKCI workshop at Vincennes University, “Focus on Federally Funded Grants”. Presented by VU staff Andrew Shepard-Smith, Pre-Award Grant Specialist, and Conya Wampler, Post-Award Grant Accountant, the workshop takes place on Wednesday, March 31 from 4-6 p.m. and is free to GAKCI members.
Submitting a federal grant requires understanding of applicable federal laws, regulations, human resource management, and administrative cost policies. This two-hour workshop will highlight pre-award standard forms required to submit a grant (SF424, SF424A Non-Construction Budget, SF424B Assurances, SF-LLL, and GEPA OMB 1894). Post-award accounting procedures will highlight topics including financial drawdowns, annual reporting, time and effort documentation, financial audits, and grant close-outs.
This workshop is designed for participants who have little or no experience managing or applying for federal grants. Handouts will be provided. To reserve a space, call Jen Holscher at 812-895-9622 or e-mail
